Bats play an important role in our ecosystem, from controlling mosquito and insect  populations to pollinating food crops. Please learn about these special creatures and help protect their habitat.

Bat house kits are for sale at the Green Marketplace. Pre-built boxes can be ordered from Bat Belfry's too. Read our brochure below for more information on properly siting your box.

You can join one of her bat chats at The Green Marketplace fall through spring and actually see the bats leave their roots to feed for the night!

Sign up now for October Bat Chats and enjoy an evening with the Green Marketplace bats!

Family-friendly program features fascinating bat facts, including bat biology, life-style, and conservation strategies. Meet live Florida bats and observe the Green Marketplace’s colony of Brazilian free-tailed bats as they emerge from their house. Please dress appropriately for outdoor activity. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs or a blanket to sit on.

Program fee includes light refreshments. Fee: Adults: $10 each ~ Couple: $15 ~ Family: $20
